Ahascragh come good in second half to secure U-21 final place … BY J. B. DONOHOE WHILE Ahascragh and Fohenagh are next-door neighbours from the far-flung frontier of Galway hurling on the field of play there is no love lost between them. That was patently obvious to the hardy band of rival supporters who braved the deep freeze at St. Brendan's Park, Loughrea, on Sunday to witness the replay of the semi-final of the U-21 ‘C’ Hurling Championship. One week earlier at Duggan Park, Ballinasloe, the sides drew 2-4 each and it was perhaps scarcely surprising that the players were getting somewhat fed up of their rivals, as Sunday's was the fourth clash between them this year. … FOHENAGH: M. Collins; N. Curley, C. Kirwan, S. Curley; K. Greebe, J. Brien, M. Blehein; P. Curley (1-0), J. Blehein; K. Brien, G. Gormley (capt.), G. McLoughlin (0-4, frees); N. Mockler, L. Manning, R. Mockler. Referee: M. Monaghan (Portumna).
