Energetic Galway U-21s floor fancied Cork side … by Frank Farragher GALWAY'S '93 hurling train continues to charge down the tracks in seemingly unstoppable mode and even if this wasn't exactly a display in the flawless category at Semple Stadium on Saturday evening, the winners were only occasionally threatened with de-railment by a Cork side unable to match the sheer intensity and workrate of last year's beaten semi-finalists. … Further on Liam Burke and Joe McGrath provided the leadership while Fohenagh's Tony Kirwin, both at wing forward and full forward, gave a superb display and looks a fine prospect. T. Headd, W. Burke, D. Canning; R. Walsh, N. Shaughnessy, M. Donoghue; M. Kilkelly, B. Duffy; L. Burke 0-2, J. McGrath 1-0, T. Kirwin 0-4; M. Headd 0-2 (both frees), M. Kearins, F. Forde. Subs.: P. Kelly for Kearins, D. Coleman 0-1 for Duffy, P. Coyne for Headd. … WINNERS... the Galway under 21 hurling team which defeated Cork in the All-Ireland semi-final at Thurles last Saturday evening.
