FOHENAGH WIN The Fohenagh Junior “A” hurlers kept their championship hopes alive when they defeated Ballygar 0-11 to 0-9 in a hard fought game at Ahascragh on Saturday evening last. The first half was closely contested and the sides finished level 0-5 each with goal opportunities missed by both sides. Ballygar forged ahead to lead 0-9 to 0-7 but the Fohenagh side scored the last four points to run out deserving winners. Fohenagh still hope for a Sarsfields victory over Ballygar to stay in the race. They were best served by Noel Higgins (in goal), backs, Michael Barrett, Colm Kirwan and the Leonard brothers, Padraic and Niall, Raymond Higgins and Jimmy Devine at midfield and forwards, John Devine, Alan Mockler and free taker, Alan Madden. The Ballygar side were best served by Pat Quinn, Tom Feeney, Frank Harkin (in goal), Paddy Flynn, Eamonn Larkin and Tomás Kilcommins.
