Mullagh beat Ahascragh-Fohenagh 5-8 to 4-6 in the under-15 East Galway Autumn League first round at Fohenagh. Ahascragh-Fohenagh were ten points down at half-time and came back strongly, with outstanding hurling from Kevin Hennelly, Trevor Lohan, Alan Molloy, John Smyth, Colm Griffin, Brendan Kilroy and Mark Mulryan. The team was Francis Mitchell; Philip McCormack, Colm Griffin, Aidan Forde; Alan Brennan, John Smyth, Mark Mulryan; Kevin Hennelly, Alan Molloy; Trevor Lohan, Shane Bannerton, Stephen Dervin; Dara Hannon, Brendan Kilroy and Cathal Barrett. Named to come on were Johnathan Noone, Joe Costello and Wayne Dowd. The junior C fixture, Ahascragh against Killimor in Athenry, was postponed because of the weather (Tuam Herald, 11 November 2000).
