Brian Lynskey

On the St Cuan's side that won the Connacht Cup, 1998

Summary

Brian Lynskey was on the Fohenagh under-14 side that reached the Supermacs quarter-finals in 1994 (Connacht Tribune, 24 June 1994, p.15), and a year later on the under-16 side that won the Galway title (Connacht Tribune, 8 December 1995, p.8)[1]. In 1996 he was a Fohenagh minor hurling champion (Galway GAA roll of honour)[2]. A History of Fohenagh names him, printed as B. Lynskey, on those under-16 and minor sides, and in the 1990 underage team photograph[3]. The Tuam Herald of 25 April 1998 said he was starring for St Cuan's, Castleblakeney, ahead of the school's All-Ireland final, and on 2 May the same paper named him on the side for the colleges final at Croke Park, the Connacht Cup already won[4]. A History of Fohenagh names Brian Lynskey, printed as B. Lynskey, among the Fohenagh under-16 champions of 1995 and the Fohenagh minor champions of 1996[3].
