Jason Lohan

All-Ireland hurling winner with Galway

Summary

Jason Lohan is named in the front row of Galway's All-Ireland Intermediate hurling champions of 2002, with Kenneth Burke (Galway GAA)[1]. On 8 March 2002 he scored a goal for Ahascragh-Fohenagh against Oranmore-Maree in the intermediate league at Ballymacward, and did great work at midfield with Tony Kirwan, the side leading 2-3 to 0-5 at half-time, the line printing Noel Higgins and Seamus Mockler (Connacht Tribune, 8 March 2002)[2]. The Connacht Tribune of 15 November 2002 named him among the fine displays as Ahascragh-Fohenagh beat Ballinasloe 2-11 to 0-9 in the under-21 championship at Duggan Park, with Darren Smyth scoring the goals and William Lyons named beside him[3]. He scored a goal in the first half as Ahascragh-Fohenagh drew with Oranmore-Maree 2-8 to 0-15 in the under-21 championship at Duggan Park (Connacht Tribune, 12 December 2003)[4]. The Connacht Tribune of 22 July 2005 names him in the Ahascragh-Fohenagh team that beat Killnadeema-Leitrim 2-13 to 0-12, the side still unbeaten in the league, with Sean Lally and Alan Smyth[5]. The Galway GAA roll of honour names him in the front row of the Ahascragh-Fohenagh minor champions of 1999, beside Julian Leonard[5]. A History of Fohenagh names him, printed as J. Lohan, among the Fohenagh under-16 champions of 1995[6]. Called to a Galway under-14 trial for the Tony Forristal Tournament in Waterford, with Gerard Gavin (City Tribune, 4 July 1997)[7]. The Tuam Herald of 4 December 1999 wrote of "a succession of excellent points" from Micheal Reynolds, Jason Lohan and Marcus Devine[8]. The Connacht Tribune of 9 November 2012 shows him, of Ahascragh-Fohenagh, contesting possession with Keith Kennedy of Killimordaly[9].
