All-Ireland hurling winner at underage with Galway

Summary

Won an All-Ireland hurling medal at under-14 with Galway. The Connacht Tribune of 29 July 1994 wrote of "good displays by local players Cathal Lohan and Oliver Deeley (Fohenagh)" in Galway's under-14 challenge games[1]. The Connacht Tribune of 8 December 1995 pictured Oliver Deeley with the Fohenagh under-16 hurlers after they took the Galway title[2]. The Connacht Tribune of 22 March 1996 named him from Fohenagh for a Galway under-16 hurling match against Mid-Clare at Kinvara (kinvara match)[3]. Oliver Deeley scored a goal as Fohenagh won the Galway Minor final, beating Cappataggle 5-15 to 0-6 at Duggan Park in 1996, the Connacht Tribune of 13 September 1996 recording "goals by Oliver Deeley" (minor final)[4]. The Connacht Tribune of 18 October 1996 wrote that "starring with the side are Oliver Deeley, Pallas, Fohenagh, and Cathal Lohan, Fohenagh" (starring pallas)[5]. He was among those who best served Fohenagh when they recaptured the Sadie Kilcommons trophy, 1-12 to 0-9, the report printing Ollie Deeley, the Connacht Tribune of 21 August 1998 reported[6]. A History of Fohenagh pictures him with the Fohenagh underage team of 1990[7]. A History of Fohenagh names Oliver Deeley, printed as O. Deeley, among the Fohenagh under-16 champions of 1995 and the Fohenagh minor champions of 1996[8]. Fohenagh Minor hurling champion, 1996 (Galway GAA Roll of Honour)[9].
